CINCINNATI – Illness has forced singer Fantasia to cancel her Friday performance at this year's Cincinnati Music Festival.

The artist apologized to her fans on Twitter for not being able to perform at the festival, which runs Thursday through Saturday at Paul Brown Stadium.

"I've fallen ill and have been advised not to travel to avoid unnecessary strain on my body and voice," she wrote. "Nothing brings me greater joy than performing and I hate disappointing my fans. Thank you CMF for your support and I know you guys will have an amazing show. I love y'all and see you soon."

Cincinnati Music Festivalupdated its website late Thursday, listing Tamar Braxton as Fantasia's replacement. The rest of Friday's lineup includes Xscape3, Boyz II Men, After7 and the evening headliner Charlie Wilson.

This year's music festival begins at 7 p.m. Thursday with performances by MC Lyte and DJ Jazzy Jeff, followed by a fashion show by Shingo.

R&B star Jill Scott will close out the music festival Saturday evening.
