CINCINNATI – Fans of John Travolta only have to wait a few more months to see the actor in a movie he filmed in the Queen City in 2016.

"Gotti," about the life and death of famed New York mobster John Gotti, will hit theaters June 15.

Travolta portrays the mobster in the movie, which filmed scenes in Finneytown and surrounding neighborhoods in July and August 2016. Travolta's real-life wife Kelly Preston co-stars as the mobster's wife, Victoria Gotti. Kevin Connolly, who is best known for playing Eric Murphy in the HBO series "Entourage," directed the film.

Lionsgate delayed the release of the biopic, originally titled "The Life and Death of John Gotti," late last year after the film company decided it would not distribute the movie. "Gotti" was originally scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 15.

Emmett/Furla/Oasis, the original company that produced the movie, bought "Gotti" from Lionsgate in order to release it.
