CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Coffee Festival is returning for a second year.
The festival raises money to support the Ohio River Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and improving the river's ecology.
"You can't have great coffee without great water," said Rich Cogen, the foundation's executive director. "This festival gets people thinking about that connection."
More than 4,000 people attended the inaugural event, featuring dozens of local and regional coffee roasters, coffee and tea shops, bakers, pastry shops and chocolatiers.
This year's Coffee Festival will be Nov. 9 to 11 at Music Hall. Among the improvements will be an extra day, Friday, specifically for coffee shop owners, baristas and people interested in getting into the coffee business.
The festival also promises to have a larger number of vendors, with space already more than 75 percent sold out.
The Latte Art Throwdown will be back again, on Saturday, Nov. 10. Baristas compete, bracket-style, for the title of Supreme Latte Artist of Greater Cincinnati.
