COVINGTON, Ky. — Braxton Brewing Company is now about more than just craft beers and ciders.

Starting Monday, the Covington-based brewery's Vive hard seltzer hit the shelves of Kroger stores in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. The drink is available in four flavors; mango, lime, dragonfruit and grapefruit.

Braxton joins fellow Greater Cincinnati brewers Rivertown Brewery in Monroe and March First Brewery in Springfield Township, both of whom began offering hard seltzer water drinks at their taproom in November. Cans of Rivertown's seltzers then hit the shelves at retailers such as Jungle Jim's International Market in Eastgate, Crown Republic located Downtown and Brentwood Wine & Spirits in December.

March First started selling its line of hard seltzers at retail outlets such as the Casual Pint in Oakley and Mason, Pins Mechanical in Over-the-Rhine, Jungle Jim's and Mac's Pizza Pubs the same month.

Vive is available in slim, 12 oz. cans in packs of six or 12. Each drink contains 100 calories, two grams of carbohydrates and is gluten free, offering a healthier choice for people who want an alcoholic beverage without all the empty-calories.

“Working on the Vive Hard Seltzer product has been both challenging and rewarding," said Evan Rouse, co-founder and chief product officer at Braxton. "When opening Braxton, I never thought we would be making a move into the FMB bev-alc category, but I am extremely excited we have decided to explore this sector.”

The hard seltzer will be made available in Braxton's taproom during a special weekend-long launch party. Festivities will begin at 7 p.m. Friday with music provided by DJ JK - JM Entertainment and a live broadcast with B-105. The party continues at 7 p.m. Saturday with live music featuring Jordan Allen & the Bellwethers.

Braxton's taproom is located at 25 W. Seventh St. in Covington. For more information about the launch party visit the event Facebook page.
