COVINGTON, Ky. -- For 100 lucky people, a little slice of heaven will rain down upon them at 11 a.m. Saturday in Covington.

That is when Alto Pizza Kitchen + Barwill give its first 100 guests who purchase a pizza a free dine-in pizza every week for a year.

The give away is part of the pizzeria's grand opening celebration at 31 W. Seventh St.

The restaurant will serve a variety of pizzas, sandwiches, pasta and salads. Its bar will feature more than 30 wines, a dozen handcrafted cocktails and craft beer.

Alto is the first retail tenant to open in the $19 million Duveneck Square development in Covington's downtown. The square, which also includes 110 apartments, is located next to Braxton Brewing Co.

It's also partnering with Braxton and opening a standalone kiosk in the brewery's taproom.

Braxton's customers will be able to place food orders from the kiosk. Alto will then deliver those orders to the taproom, according to Jake Rouse, Braxton's co-founder and CEO.

"Since opening the brewery’s doors three years ago, we’ve consistently heard one thing: We wish you had food," Rouse said.

Braxton will host its own celebration welcoming Alto to the neighborhood on July 14.

"We are thrilled with the opportunity to serve guests in Braxton's Taproom," said Bob Dames, Alto's founder.
