CINCINNATI — Behind the biggest plays in Cincinnati sports, you hear Dan Hoard's voice on the call. Now he's making lighter calls daily for everyday people doing sports feats.

"I didn't imagine doing that, but it's been fun so far," Hoard said. "I hope people are enjoying watching them as much as I'm enjoying doing them."

Hoard is the play-by-play voice of the Bengals and Bearcats football and basketball programs. Since the games are on pause, he started "Hoard Makes The Call" on Twitter to unite people, as sports usually do.

"I wanted to try to do something a little bit different that hopefully would bring a smile to people's faces," Hoard said. "I came upon this notion of trying to do custom made play-by-play for people, so you send me your video and I will approach it like I would approach a game. I will get as many details as possible."

There's no arena with live sports, no spectators around and no previous knowledge of the athletes that Hoard is calling, but that's part of the fun.

"My hope is the videos will keep increasing every time people see this and get a kick out of it," Hoard said. "It started out with a slow trickle and now it's increasing into a steady stream. The more people that send them in, and the more unusual things that I get, I think the more people will enjoy it."

Hoard's efforts show that people can all come together, in their social distance, for a laugh.
