CINCINNATI — The Bengals and NFL Foundation will donate a combined $75,000 to help families affected by Sunday’s mass shooting in Dayton, they announced Wednesday in the news release.
The money will go to the Dayton Oregon District Tragedy Fund, which was created by the Dayton Foundation in the wake of the shooting. A 24-year-old armed with a semi-automatic rifle killed nine other people, including his own sister, and wounded over two dozen more before police fatally shot him.
“Dayton is part our our community, and we are saddened by the tragic events that took place this weekend,” Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn said Wednesday. “Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and all of those affected.”
Anyone wishing to donate to the victims themselves can do so through the Dayton Foundation online.
