CINCINNATI - Police spokesperson Lt. Steve Saunders confirmed that a District 3 police officer has tested positive for COVID-19.
The officer is currently self-quarantining. He was one of two officers awaiting the results of coronavirus tests.
The result comes one day after the third Cincinnati Police officer tested positive for coronavirus. Saunders said that officer did not work in District 3, and that officials would not release the location of that officer.
The first CPD officer was diagnosed March 28, prompting the Cincinnati Police Department to clean and sterilize District 3 headquarters. The second officer also worked at District 3, which serves the west side of the city.
Despite the positive diagnoses, District 3 headquarters on Ferguson Road will remain open. Cincinnatians should not expect any interruption in service, CPD spokesperson Saunders wrote in a previous news release
