CINCINNATI — Heading into retirement, former Cincinnati Reds announcer Marty Brennman got a very presidential sendoff.

The legendary broadcaster received a letter from former President George W. Bush last week, which Brennaman posted on Instagram Monday.

“Dear Marty,” the Oct. 2 letter reads, “Welcome to the world of the retired. Congratulations on your successful tenure as the voice of the Cincinnati Reds. Thank you for devoting your career to sharing our national pastime. I am grateful for your many contributions to the great game of baseball.

“Laura and I send our best wishes to you and Amanda as you begin your next chapter. May God bless you.”

Brennaman called his last game on Sept. 26, capping off a 46-year career as the voice of the Cincinnati Reds.
