READING (HAMILTON COUNTY), Ohio -- Police arrested a man Tuesday who they said followed and tried to grab a 14-year-old girl.
Raymond Philpot, 27, is facing charges of attempted kidnapping and attempted rape, Reading police announced.
Police they received a report at about 1:14 p.m. that a teenage girl had texted her mother, saying a man was following her from the McDonalds on Reading Road toward her home, and she needed help.
When the girl neared her home, the man attempted to grab her, police said.
Officers found Philpot, who matched the suspect's description, near Reading Middle School.
In an affidavit, police said Philpot admitted to following the girl and said he intended to have sex with her.
Philpot was being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center pending arraignment.
