Where else have you worked?
I worked at The Cincinnati Enquirer for seven years in a variety of editorial and digital roles, most recently arts and entertainment editor. Prior to that, I worked at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and The Detroit News.
Where did you go to college?
Howard University. #bisonforlife
What are you most proud of when it comes to your work?
I'm proud that I've been able to shine a light on all the great arts and entertainment options in this city and help people better enjoy their free time.
What are you most proud of in your own life?
I'm most proud of my family, whom I adore, and my friends, many of whom I consider family. (And secretly, I'm proud that after 10 years of going out and frequently leaving her alone at night, my cat hasn't moved out yet.)
What do you love about living in the Tri-State?
I love that there's always someplace new to try, and that no matter where I go, I'm likely to run into someone I know. And I don't know that many people!
What are your favorite local hangouts/places, sports & cultural institutions?
As far as bars and restaurants, the Bar at Palm Court (I'm there minimum once a week), Cricket Lounge, Japp's, Boca, Sotto and the Cocktail Terrace at 21c. I love Washington Park and Music Hall.
All-time favorites... (Movies, shows, books, music)
Jay Z's "Black Album" changed my life. I also love Beyonce. "Scandal" is my obsession, and I quote "The Wire" daily, because it's the best series of all time. As far as books, Zora Neale Hurston's "Their Eyes Were Watching God" is one of my all-time favorites. And I listen to a lot of podcasts but "The Read" makes me laugh till I cry.
Apps I can't live without
Nuzzel, Bleacher Report, Tidal, Apple Music and the Baltimore Ravens app -- I'm a die-hard fan.
