MASON, Ohio - Seven-time men’s champion Roger Federer and defending women’s champion Karolina Pliskova headline the field for the 2017 Western & Southern Open Aug. 12-20, announced Thursday.
The player fields for @CincyTennis feature the 44 highest ranked ATP players and 39 of the top 43 WTA players.

The men’s field includes two-time titlist Andy Murray, 2013 winner Rafael Nadal, defending champion Marin Cilic and five-time finalist Novak Djokovic.
Besides Kliskova, who will become the WTA’s No. 1 player on Monday, the women’s field will have three former No. 1s: Angelique Kerber, Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams.
The entry list includes 14 players who have won a Grand Slam tournament.
The official draw for both men’s and women’s tournaments will occur at the Lindner Family Tennis Center on Aug. 11. The first qualifying rounds set to take place the following day.
