SHARONVILLE, Ohio -- Princeton senior wing Darius Bazley made a significant jump in the Rivals.com Top 150 national rankings Monday afternoon.

Bazley, who is verbally committed to Syracuse, is ranked No. 25 among the nation's best boys’ basketball players in the 2018 class by Rivals. He also received five-star status as one of the nation’s elite players.

Bazley, a versatile 6-foot-9 player, was previously ranked No. 73 nationally by Rivals.com.

Bazley is ranked No. 32 nationally by ESPN.com and Ohio’s No. 1 player in the 2018 class. He is rated the No. 27 player nationally by 247Sports and the top-ranked player in Ohio.

Bazley will compete with Chicago-based Meanstreets in the nationally recognized Nike Peach Jam this week in North Augusta, Georgia.

“The summer has been real fun,” Bazley told WCPO.com last week. “I’m trying to make it more of a statement summer. My goal is I’m trying to push myself into the top 20 to show I am one of the best players in the nation. So far it’s been good -- it’s been fun, especially for it being my last year -- it’s been good to me.”

Princeton is scheduled to begin the 2017-18 season against Xenia Friday, Dec. 1 in the Ohio Valley Hoops Classic (9 p.m. tipoff) at Southern State Community College in Hillsboro.
