MASON, Ohio -- A new study from MaxPreps and Lateral Sportshas found Mason High School has produced the most current collegiate athletes in selected fall sports among Ohio high schools.

Mason has 75 former athletes participating in NCAA (Divisions I, II or III) and NAIA football, volleyball and men’s and women’s soccer rosters.

Lakewood St. Edward led statewide with the most amount of collegiate football players with 45. Mason had the most soccer players (45) and the most among female sports (girls’ soccer and volleyball) with 27.

Mason is the largest high school based on enrollment in the state, according to the Ohio Department of Education.

The OHSAA will work with the Ohio Department of Education this winter for the new two-year divisional breakdown in each sport for next spring. This is the final year of a two-year enrollment cycle.

Mason, one of the state’s premier high school athletics programs in any season, won its ninth consecutive Greater Miami Conference All-Sports Trophy last spring.
