MASON, Ohio — Mason 2019 guard Sammie Puisis, who plays AAU for Cincy Heat Premier this summer, has received offers from Xavier, Marquette, Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Arkansas after the first round of exposure tournaments, according to CHP girls' basketball coach Xavier Sanders.

Marquette offered Puisis in March, shortly after the Comets competed in the state tournament and finished as Division I state runner-up.

Puisis averaged 9.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.3 assists as a freshman last season. She shot 49 percent from the field overall and 49 percent from beyond the 3-point arc (49 of 98). She had a season-high 21 points in the 48-31 win over Solon in the state semifinal.

Puisis, a 6-foot-1 wing/guard, has made a national impact on the AAU circuit this summer. She was one of six national recruits highlighted by ESPN.com as one of the rising standouts this month.

“Puisis is emerging as one of the elite prospects in the class of 2019,” wrote national recruiting expert Dan Olson.

“She delivers off the dribble, knocks down shots at the arc and competes on both ends of the floor.”

Puisis also has strong interest from programs in the ACC, Big Ten, Big East, SEC and Horizon League. Mason coach Rob Matula says he's received plenty of phone calls about Puisis. "It's been kind of crazy around here," Matula said Monday morning.
