AURORA, Ind. -- A man was arrested early Saturday in a shooting that left a woman dead and a man with life-threatening injuries.

Terry Storey, 55, is charged with murder and attempted murder, according to Indiana State Police.

According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, authorities received a call about a shooting at a home along state Route 48 at about 7 p.m. Friday. The home is near Manchester Elementary School.

Two people suffering gunshot wounds were in the home's yard.

By the time police arrived, the woman was already dead. The male victim was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to police.

Storey lives near the home where the shooting happened, police said.

He also was charged with resisting law enforcement and battery on a law enforcement officer. Indiana State Police said he forcibly resisted arrest and battered a Dearborn County deputy.

He's being held at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
