CINCINNATI – US Bank Arena and Miami University have been chosen to host the NCAA Division I Men's Midwest Hockey Regional in 2017 for the third time in four years.
The NCAA already picked US Bank to hold the 2016 event. Both are scheduled for March 25-26.
The arena hosted the regional in 2014 and held the Frozen Four in 1996.
"This selection only reinforces that Cincinnati is a growing hockey market," said arena GM Kristin Ropp.
Arena owners recently announced plans for a sweeping upgrade to the 40-year-old building on the riverfront. No timetable has been given.
The Cincinnati Cyclones of the East Coast Hockey League also play at US Bank.
