FORT WRIGHT, Ky. -- A car burst into flames just after midnight Tuesday on the Kyles Lane exit off northbound Interstate 71/75, prompting multiple agencies to respond.
Police from Covington, Fort Wright and Park Hills and Fort Wright Fire all arrived within minutes. The occupants of the car were able to escape, and police aren't certain what exactly caused the car to catch fire.
As a reminder, the AAA and the National Fire Protection Association say if your car is on fire, you should pull over as soon as possible, shut off the engine to cut the flow of fuel, get everyone out of the vehicle and remain at least 150 feet away. When you're driving, watch for rapid changes in fuel or fluid levels and engine temperature. Those can be signs your car is in danger of catching fire.
