COVINGTON, Ky. -- One person was found dead in his second floor bedroom at an early morning house fire that also injured a firefighter.
Crews responded at about 3:45 a.m. Wednesday to the blaze at 2718 Madison Ave. Officials have not yet identified the name of the victim. They say the fire started on the first level of the home, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Crews closed Madison Avenue near 26th Street early Wednesday morning as they investigated.
A firefighter suffered minor injuries on the scene and was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

The Newport Fire Department and Ft. Wright Fire Department assisted the Covington Fire and Police Department on scene.
