FAIRFIELD, Ohio — A restaurant in Fairfield is a "total loss" after a two-alarm fire moved through the building Tuesday morning, according to officials.
Fairfield Fire Chief Donald Bennett said smoke alarms went off inside of Mango's Tropical Oasis on Dixie Highway around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
When firefighters got on scene, they entered the building to try and put the fire out, but the fire grew progressively worse. The firefighters had to evacuate the building and fight the fire defensively from the outside.
Bennett said the building is a total loss, but he also said no one was injured from the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
