FAIRFAX, Ohio -- A motorist struck and killed a pedestrian Monday night on a busy East Side corridor.
The victim was crossing Red Bank Road just south of Brotheron Court at about 8:15 p.m.
A man driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck hit and killed her, Cincinnati Police Lt. Michael Fern said. The woman was pinned underneath the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
She was later identified as Kimberly Seiter, of Madison Place.
Seiter wasn't in a marked crosswalk but police also pointed out there are no marked crosswalks in the area.
The truck's driver stopped and was cooperating with police, Fern said. He was visibly shaken by the crash.
The driver's identity has not been released. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
It was raining at the time, so police are looking into whether slick roads played a part.
Though the crash was just inside the village of Fairfax, Cincinnati police are handling the traffic investigation as part of a mutual aid agreement. Evidence will be turned over to the Fairfax Police Department, Fern said.
