CINCINNATI -- A fire tore through a vacant home on Erie Avenue near Whetsel Avenue in Madisonville early Thursday morning.

The fire was first reported just before 5 a.m., according to a spokesperson from Cincinnati Fire Department District 4. When firefighters arrived, the entire second floor of the home was engulfed.

Multiple fire crews responded to the scene; forty-two first responders were on the scene.

Several neighbors -- some as far as Fairfax -- called WCPO's newsroom to ask about the fire.

No one was injured in the effort to put out the fire, but the home was a total loss, District 4 said.
