CINCINNATI -- With Tri-State gas prices trending upward recently, it might not be a bad idea to join the rest of the country for National Dump the Pump Day this Thursday.
Cincinnati's Metro is celebrating with free bus rides, live entertainment and refreshments for its #61616 event. To sign up to receive a free Metro Day pass for Thursday, visit the website here. Day passes within city limits typically cost $4.50, or $6.30 for those traveling to areas in Hamilton County outside city limits.
Participants who pledge to ride the bus, instead of taking their cars in celebration of the day, will have a chance to win tickets to a Jimmy Buffet concert, Kings Island passes, a Taste of Belgium gift certificate and other prizes.
Local bands including The Cliftones, Elementree Livity Project, Buggs Tha Rocka and Jess Lamb will perform at bus stops throughout the day. Qdoba, Busken Bakery, The Pop Shop and Pit-to-Plate will provide snacks for riders throughout the day. Check out the band and refreshment schedule here.
Metro is joining more than 100 transit systems around the country for the 11th annual Dump the Pump Day.
