CINCINNATI -- Condolences are pouring out on social media for a local boy who spent most of his short time on Earth battling cancer.

Five-year-old Taylor Grant passed away Wednesday, according to a video his mother Ciera Grant posted to her son's Facebook page late Wednesday night. By Thursday afternoon, the video had surpassed 85,000 views with thousands of shares and comments.

Taylor had been battling neuroblastoma since the age of two. Neuroblastoma is a rare form of cancer in the adrenal glands, which sit on top of the kidneys and produce adrenaline to help the body deal with stress.

The social media hashtag "Team Taylor" started trending locally and nationally when a fundraising page was created last year to help him live the rest of his life to the fullest with visits to museums, Chuck E. Cheese and movie theaters. As of Thursday, it had raised $3,431 for the cause.

When WCPO spoke with Ciera in December, she told us she hopes "Team Taylor" will soon become a non-profit organization to help children with cancer.
