CINCINNATI -- A maintenance worker was found dead Friday while on the job on University of Cincinnati's Clifton campus, according to a university spokesperson.
According to school spokeswoman Michele Ralston, Chris Lane, 42, was conducting maintenance work inside the Medical Sciences building, located on the corner of Eden Avenue and Albert Sabin Way.
Lane was a contract employee with KONE Elevators and Escalators of Cincinnati, where he'd worked for 20 years.
The UC Police Department was investigating the case, Ralston said, and that investigators believe the death to be accidental.
Ralston did not immediately indicate what Lane was working on at the time of death, but said the building would remain open with elevator service shut down for the weekend.
The Medical Sciences Building holds classrooms, research and teaching laboratories, and administrative and faculty offices, Ralston said.
