NEW RICHMOND, Ohio — Two people were hospitalized after an early morning fire scorched apartments in New Richmond Wednesday.
Crews responded to a report of a fire at the 200 block of Front Street at about 6:25 a.m., where two second-floor apartments had caught fire and damaged a business on the ground level.
Fire officials said two people were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. One cat died in the blaze, and two pets were still missing late Wednesday morning.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
