Man arrested after breaking into jail

Posted

HAMILTON, Ohio -- A man who broke into jail Saturday was behind bars again Monday. This time, it was not of his own volition.

Police said Monday that Chad Saylor, 23, climbed a pipe and hopped a barbed wire fence at the Resolutions jail compound Saturday night. Once inside, he called 911 to tell dispatchers that his life was in jeopardy.

“I had nowhere else to go or else I would have died," Saylor says in the 911 recording of that call. “They’re coming.”

Saylor claimed he broke into the compound because men with guns were pursuing him -- two, he said, made it into the complex with him. His 911 call contains cries for help and frantic shouting about an attacker with a pipe.

When Hamilton police arrived, however, Saylor was the only person they found. Saylor already had an active arrest warrant for theft in Hamilton County and was taken into custody.
