CINCINNATI -- Want the chance to appear in a major motion picture that will film in Cincinnati?

D. Lynn Meyers Casting announced an open call on its Facebook page for extras to appear in the movie “The Old Man and the Gun.” Auditions will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Xavier University’s Gallagher Student Center at 3800 Victory Parkway in Evanston.

The casting company asks people wear 1970s-era clothing to the audition.

The Internet Movie Databaseshows the movie will star Robert Redford, Sissy Spacek, Danny Glover and Casey Affleck, who won an Oscar in February for his leading role in “Manchester by the Sea.” David Lowery is set to direct the film.

IMDB said the film centers on an elderly bank robber living in a retirement community who wants to commit one more heist.

Another post on the casting company's Facebook page seeking a photo double of Redford indicated the movie will film in Cincinnati this April.

In addition to the open casting calls, Film Cincinnati invited people interested in appearing as extras to email resumes to omagtalent@gmail.com. Those interested in working behind cameras as crew were invited to email resumes to omagresumes@gmail.com.

Primary filming for another movie, "The Public," recently ended in Cincinnati. That movie centered around a standoff with police and library officials at the Downtown branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County after patrons, many homeless and mentally ill, turned the library into an impromptu shelter for one night during a brutal cold snap.
