CINCINNATI -- Anybody who's been to the Tri-State knows our beer scene is hopping (with new microbreweries opening weekly, it seems), but some little-known magazine has slapped us on its new list of under-the-radar beer destinations.

OK -- perhaps Imbibe Magazine isn't that obscure with 135,000 Instagram followers, but we couldn't resist that clapback.

Anyway, we're thrilled the Queen City got some love on Brooklyn-based "beer journalist" Joshua M. Bernstein's list of 10 American cities that have become "essential points on today's beer map."

Rhinegeist's phenomenal rooftop deck, MadTree's $18 million expansion and Urban Artifact's funky sours all earn high praise from Bernstein.

Covington's Braxton Brewing gets a shout out for opening its new research and development lab inside Bellevue's liquor store on steroids, Party Source.

"Historically, greater Cincinnati was an American brewing mecca,” Braxton Brewing CEO Jake Rouse told Imbibe Magazine. “Prohibition killed it off but there’s been a resurgence ... It’s the perfect place to run a brewery."

Bernstein rounds out his Cincinnati write-up with mentions of Listermann Brewing and Rivertown Brewery and Barrel House.

Indianapolis also made the list, which you can read at the website here.
