WYOMING, Ohio — Wyoming Middle School sent a mean girl to the principal’s office Tuesday.
It's not like it sounds: This particular 'mean girl' was actually a welcome guest.
Actress Lacey Chabert — known best for her performance as Gretchen Wieners in “Mean Girls” — has been in town for the last few weeks filming the Mariah Carey-directed television movie “A Christmas Melody.”
On Tuesday, Chabert payed a visit to Wyoming Middle School to deliver a special thank you message to students:
Wyoming Middle School was one of several local venues selected as a filming location throughout the Tri-State.

In her message to students over the school’s PA system, Chabert said, “I just wanted to thank you guys so much for letting us spend time with you in your school the last few days, and being here is going to make the movie so much better.”
She also cautioned students against being a “mean girl,” and, of course, made sure to mention that Wyoming Middle School is “so fetch.”
Wyoming City Schools spokeswoman Susanna Max said “students were beaming with excitement” after Chabert’s quick message.
Filming for "A Christmas Melody" began in Cincinnati in early October.
“A Christmas Melody” will air on December 19 at 8 p.m. on the Hallmark Channel.
